Jennifer (“Jen”) Hadayia is the new Executive Director at Air Alliance Houston, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the public health impacts from air pollution through applied research, education, and advocacy. For over 20 years, Jen has led people and programs focused on some of the most pressing public health issues. She directed the design of Harris County’s first-ever Health Equity strategy and guided the public health department of the largest FQHC in Texas to grow in both focus and reach in the middle of a global pandemic. With formal training in public policy and administration, Jen has held such roles as program manager, senior planner, and senior director while working at state and county health departments and non-profit organizations in five states and the District of Columbia. Jen specializes in strategic planning, staff development, grant management, coalition convening, and performance and quality improvement. She has spoken at dozens of conferences about her work and served in statewide leadership roles for the American Public Health Association (APHA) and the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE). Jen majored in English at Yale University and earned an MPA from Columbia University with a concentration in Gender and Public Policy. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where she lives with her husband and a variety of rescue pets including a 33-year-old box turtle.
