Symposium on Equity Date and Speakers Announced

November 2022

On January 21, 2023, the Houston 2036 Taskforce on Equity will bring leaders together to create and act upon a powerful vision of social justice for Houston’s future.

 

The event will be Saturday, January 21, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at University of St. Thomas, 3800 Montrose Blvd. Houston, TX 77006 in the Scanlan Room. 

The Symposium on Equity will engage leaders on how Houston can achieve equity socially, economically, politically and spiritually through keynote presentations, panels, and conversation groups. The symposium will elevate the current conversation about how Equity functions and can be achieved in economic, political, spiritual and social realms. 

The daylong event will include more than 200 established and emergent leaders representing business, civic, non-profit, faith, education, medical, military and the arts from across the city of Houston 

The symposium is sponsored by the American Leadership Forum, Dialogue Houston, the University of St. Thomas, and Holocaust Museum Houston.

About Houston 2036

Transforming Houston’s future. In preparation for the bicentennial of Houston in 2036, the American Leadership Forum, Dialogue Houston, University of St. Thomas, University of Houston-Downtown are bringing leaders together to create and act upon a powerful vision of social justice for Houston’s future.  

The Houston 2036 Taskforce on Equity will be responsible for developing the vision, designing a plan for realizing that vision, and taking collective action to drive measurable change.
