SYMPOSIUM ON EQUITY
JANUARY 21, 2023

The Houston 2036 Taskforce on Equity brings leaders together to create and act upon a powerful vision of social justice for Houston’s future.

The Symposium on Equity will engage leaders on how Houston can achieve equity socially, economically, politically and spiritually through keynote presentations, panels, and conversation groups.

In preparation for the city’s bicentennial in 2036, the Houston 2036 Taskforce on Equity, sponsored by the American Leadership Forum, Dialogue Houston, the University of St. Thomas, and Holocaust Museum Houston is hosting a Symposium on Equity to create and act upon a powerful vision of social justice for Houston’s future.

This symposium will elevate the current conversation about how Equity functions and can be achieved in economic, political, spiritual and social realms.  Houston is a city of demographic transformations, and as expressed by Houston 2036 Taskforce Panel member, and Founding Director of the Kinder Institute for Urban Research, Stephen Klineberg Ph.D., “if our city is to flourish, it will need to evolve into a more united, equitable and inclusive society, one with real equality of opportunity for all residents”.

The day will include over 200 established and emergent leaders from all over Houston dedicated to affecting change for a better Houston. These leaders will represent business, civic, non-profit, faith, education, medical, military, the arts, and bring together those interested in advancing justice and equity as a life imperative.
